NOMADIC Turns 5!

April 20, 2025 marks the 5th Anniversary of JaeRa, the Visitor's debut music release NOMADIC! This breakout release combines all of the early influences of JaeRa's tastes into one instrumental package. To quote JaeRa, the intention of NOMADIC, as the title implies, is to take it's listener on a sonic journey. One that invites the listener to "Wander," travel to through "Deserts and Oases," roam through the "South Bay," and even take the trek to more odd and unorthodox places. This sample heavy project flips from a wide variety of sources from Wodaabe  ceremonies to the Toonami cartoon channel in order to invite others into JaeRa's imagination. 

NOMADIC has been an important piece to the Jes Grew Soul puzzle as it formalized more of the sound of JaeRa. In it's history of release it has also raised thousands of dollars towards Justice for Breonna Taylor through a fundraiser where all the proceeds of the project was donated. It is a shining example of the type of ethos that we want our work to embody. The music is the magic.

To commemorate the 5th Anniversary of the release of NOMADIC, JaeRa has released a zine sharing the same title and spirit of one of the songs: Aṣẹ 

For those that want to know more about the production of NOMADIC, you can travel into the past to re-visit an interview between JaeRa and Christian Mallet of Harmonic Heart. This conversation goes more into depth on the type of samples that this beat-tape uses, what the primary influences were, and the major philosophy behind the project as a whole. And it's a conversation between two homies who have known each other since Kindergarten.
